Brazilian Ju Jitsu shoot in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Not long ago, UFC brought the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) to Canada. Within a few months, it has become extremely popular. Our team was intrigued by this art of fighting and wanted to see first hand how fighters were trained to become MMA fighters.

A few weeks back, we were invited to the Brazilian Ju Jitsu school in Montreal, Quebec for a shoot.  We took this opportunity to gain deep insight in the discipline, and drove up to Montreal last weekend.   It was interesting to learn how people in this particular school formed a strong bond, both in school and outside. I had previously worked on a documentary on a “Professor” of Gracie Barra style of Ju Jitsu, and had become familiarized with the concept of “family” in this form of martial arts. However it wasn’t until this shoot that I experienced this familial bonding first hand. I have more respect for the sport than ever before.
