Posted: September 2, 2011 in Pre/PostProduction

Last week, Chelsea Prescod, a dear friend and founder of The Adva Effect (xhttp://chelseaprescod.tumblr.com/), asked me to photograph a hip-hop video for Freddy Will.

FREDDY WILL (Wilfred Kanu, Jr.) is a Grammy-nominated Hip-Hop artist and author from New Jersey, USA.  He was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa.  As a child, he was raised in Liberia but returned to Sierra Leone as a young teenager when the Liberian civil war ensued.   Living in Bo and Freetown, Sierra Leone Freddy Will attended high school at Christ the King Collegeand the Methodist Boys High School respectively.  He later escaped to The Gambia where he lived as a refugee when the Liberian civil war spread into Sierra Leone and escalated into genocide. He has also lived in Dakar, Senegal (West Africa), as well as in the United States where he reunited with his family after eight years of toiling on West Africa’s war ravaged streets.

Below is the facebook page for the video:
